Graduate Assistantships at Aquinas are a form of financial aid awarded as part of a merit-based scholarship package. The Graduate Assistantship Program provides students with the opportunity to gain professional experience while supporting the mission and work of Aquinas Institute of Theology.

Graduate Assistant Form to Evaluate Supervisor
As mentioned in the Graduate Assistantship Handbook, Graduate Assistants are allowed to evaluate their supervisors at the end of each semester. This is purely optional.
Employee Injury Form
If a student is injured while working, he/she must report the injury immediately to his/her supervisor, regardless of perceived severity and regardless of whether a doctor will or will not be needed.
Available Positions
All available Graduate Assistant positions are listed below. To view the full description of a position, click on the job title. After reviewing the available positions, please complete the Graduate Assistant Position Request Form and indicate your top three position preferences. While students may identify preferred positions, placement in a specific position is not guaranteed. Assignments are made based on position availability, student qualifications, departmental needs, the student selection process, and supervisor recommendations.

Students may hold positions in two departments if their primary position does not provide sufficient hours to earn their full graduate assistantship award. For example, a student working 8-10 hours per week in one department may supplement their schedule with an additional 5-6 hours per week in another department. Students interested in working in more than one department should indicate this on the Position Request Form.
Please Note: Graduate Research Assistant positions are generally reserved for students who have completed at least one year of study at Aquinas and meet any qualifications specified by the supervising faculty member. Students interested in these opportunities should indicate their interest on the Position Request Form. If selected, they will be assigned to a faculty member who has requested research assistance.

Hours: 15/week
Learn to work in a non-traditional ministerial role. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Development Department in efforts related to fundraising, alumni engagement, and hospitality.
Hours: 8-10/week
The graduate assistant will assist Dr. Clem with administrative tasks related to the Health Care Mission programs, as well as his research and teaching responsibilities.
Hours: 8-10/week
The Research Assistant will help the faculty member carry out various research tasks throughout the academic year. Research tasks will focus on acquiring and summarizing (annotating/abstracting) secondary literature pertinent to the history of Christianity, and in editing articles for publication.
Hours: 10-15/week
Assist Dr. Abril in the research and writing process. This is a great opportunity for a student to learn more about research, writing, and publication while delving deeply into the field of theological anthropological.
