Br. Thomas Goble, OP

Growing up Catholic, Br. Thomas Goble, OP, was familiar with some aspects of religious life, but it was while studying business and accounting at Indiana University that he first encountered the Order of Preachers. Inspired by their preaching, fraternity, and prayer, he eventually was inspired to discern a vocation. He has tried to take to heart the advice given to him by a Dominican sister: give the best years of your lives to Jesus, and you won't be disappointed. He thinks she's right. "The more that we give to the Lord, the more we recognize His presence in our lives, the more blessed we are!"
Studying at Aquinas Institute of Theology has expanded his appreciation for the role of study in the spiritual life. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience of studying at Aquinas Institute of Theology. It is a unique privilege to get to study alongside bright friars and exceptional lay students...I think one of the greatest gifts of the Dominican charism is how study if an integral part of our spirituality. Our study should always lead us towards an encounter with the Truth, who is Jesus Christ. Our study should inform our prayer, but it is also a form of prayer as we seek to be transformed by our study."
