Commencement Speaker Spotlight: Fr. James Marchionda, OP

Aquinas Institute of Theology is excited to announce the 2021 Commencement Speaker:

Fr. James Marchionda, OP, is a Dominican priest, preacher, composer, and musician. Before his current role of Prior Provincial of the Dominican Province of St. Albert the Great, Fr. Marchionda engaged in full-time parish mission preaching from 1994-2015 before his election to his current office. He served as Vicar Provincial of his province from 1985-1994.

Fr. Marchionda was ordained in 1973 and holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Aquinas Institute of Theology, a graduate degree in music composition from the University of Wisconsin School of Music, Madison, Wisconsin. A noted World Library Publications composer for over 35 years, one of his compositions, I Was Hungry, was sung during the communion rite at the funeral of Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta. In addition to administrative responsibilities, Fr. Marchionda serves on the Board of Trustees for Aquinas Institute of Theology and maintains preaching engagements whenever possible.
