Jon Henz from Chapel Hill, North Carolina graduated from Aquinas Institute of Theology this past May with a Certificate in Spiritual Direction.
Jon attended Aquinas Institute of Theology in order to develop skills in spiritual direction and to foster community among others seeking ministry.
“I hoped to learn more about what exactly Spiritual Direction is, as well as meet with others who shared a similar calling,” Jon said. “With my certification, I plan to begin offering this ministry to my fellow parishioners. After taking the courses, and meeting with my cohort over several semesters, I feel prepared and inspired to do this.”
After graduation, Jon plans to continue his formation and work with members of his parish in fostering the spiritual direction offerings.
“In preparation for my certification in May, I was contacted by two parishes (St. Thomas More and Newman Catholic Student Center) to participate in a Spiritual Direction Collective which adheres to shared ethics, training, and experience,” he says.
Part of the worldwide Order of Preachers, Aquinas Institute of Theology is a Catholic, Dominican-sponsored graduate school of theology offering multiple graduate degree and certificate programs on its campus in Midtown St. Louis, MO.
