Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church is a forward-thinking, spirit-led community of 1,800 families seeking a new Lead Coordinator of Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation for our children ages PreK-8th grade. The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program provides a unique and engaging method for children to explore scripture, liturgy, and key elements of the Catholic faith. As lead coordinator, you will work with parents, staff, and volunteers in guiding children on the spiritual journey and accompanying them as they develop and grow in their faith.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A deep commitment to the Catholic faith and a strong personal relationship with God
  • Level Three CGS training or a desire and willingness to seek and be trained
  • Patience, adaptability, and an ability to connect with parents, children, and volunteers
  • A solid understanding of the Montessori approach to education
  • Prior experience working with children in a religious education setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Management experience


Responsibilities

  • Facilitating religious education classes and sacramental preparation for children PreK-8th grade using the CGS/Montessori method
  • Leading a team of six people in the Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation of 300+ children
  • Preparing and organizing materials and activities based on the CGS curriculum
  • Creating a nurturing and supportive environment for children to explore their faith
  • Guiding children in prayer, scripture reflection, and liturgical celebrations
  • Assessing the spiritual progress of each child and providing individualized guidance
  • Collaborating with other catechists and program coordinators to ensure cohesive implementation of the program

Job Requirements:

  • Possess and demonstrate excellent skills as both an organist and a pianist
  • Have experience leading and working with cantors, choirs, students, and other musicians of various ages

Job Summary:
YOUTH MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a vision and action plan for parish youth ministry in collaboration with the Pastor and parish staff via frequent communication with parish Directors and regularly scheduled meetings with Pastor and school Principal.
- Perform administrative work related to furthering youth ministry efforts within the parish.
- Prepare and manage a youth ministry budget in collaboration with the parish Director of Finance and ensure that purchases stay within the allotted budget.
- Recruit, form, and commission adults in the parish to become youth ministry leaders who mentor and disciple young parishioners.
- Maintain compliance with Archdiocesan Safe Environment standards.
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with parish families by regular attendance at Sunday Mass and other parish events, and through regular interaction with families.
- Coordinate youth ministry activities with various parish committees and groups so as to unify parish evangelization efforts.
- Advertise, coordinate, and execute middle school and high school youth ministry events, such as youth group meetings and small groups.
- Build, maintain, and grow relationships with middle school and high school students in parochial school, parish religious education program, and Catholic high schools through lunchtime visits, small group discussions, classroom visits, and other activities.
- Collaborate and communicate with other youth ministry workers, especially in the Family of Parishes, uniting parish youth ministry goals to the wider goals of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Plan and Journey of Faith.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and develop young adult ministry through small groups, bible studies, social gatherings, and other events aimed at drawing in adults in their 20s and 30s and responding to their spiritual needs.
- Integrate young adults into parish life through spiritual and communal involvement.
- Develop young adult leaders in the parish.
