Our Building and Learning Environment

The Aquinas Building

A renovated former factory that has won architectural awards, our building is adjacent to Saint Louis University in the heart of Midtown St. Louis. Midtown is a thriving area currently experiencing tremendous growth. Students at Aquinas Institute are able to utilize the many resources of a major university, while studying in the center of a revitalized neighborhood, with theaters, restaurants, and cultural  opportunities nearby.

The Chapel

Our chapel is intentionally designed to be both at the heart of our community, and the heart of our building. Located in the center of building, the chapel is oriented in a Dominican style of prayer where members of the congregation face each other. We hold mass during the academic year on Tuesdays at 11:30am and regularly use the space for vespers and other prayer.

The Delaplane Preaching Studio

This space is specifically designed for the audio, video, and technology needs to train modern preachers. It comes equipped with modern technology to produce high quality video and audio resources.

Classrooms

Academics are central to our mission at Aquinas Institute of Theology and we offer a variety of different classroom spaces. These range from intimate seminar rooms, to classrooms for 15 students, to larger spaces that our entire community can gather in to learn.

The Library

The Library at Aquinas Institute of Theology is primarily a theological reference library with resources from earlier Dominican seminaries. It maintains a small circulating collection of books and other media with emphasis on scripture, preaching, ministry, liturgy, and spirituality.
