Alumni Affairs and Development Graduate Assistant (2 openings)

Hours: 15/week
Reporting to: Director of Development Erin Hammond

Description:
The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Development Department in efforts related to fundraising, grant research, and hospitality. Learn first hand options in non-traditional ministry.

Duties:

  • Work with the development team to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities which support and engage Aquinas alumni and cultivate and thank our friends and donors
  • Assist in building up content and publishing an alumni newsletter and social media communications
  • Assist the Alumni Steering Committee in planning and implementation of alumni-focused initiatives and events
  • Attend and staff major development events (Great Preacher Award, Wine and Dine with the Dominicans, Friends of Aquinas Masses, etc.)
  • Serve as the lead staff person for several projects. These projects will be determined based on the graduate assistant's skills and interest areas and the needs of the development office
  • Engage alumni in the field, create content, and learn about mission driven programming

Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning and implementation (preferred but not required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent/high level of service to our stakeholders
  • Intermediate research and reporting skills
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (most often by moving event supplies, tables/chairs, storage items)
  • Intermediate (or advanced) software skill level
  • Organized and able to quickly adapt to change
  • Work Study
