The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Development Department in efforts related to fundraising, grant research, and hospitality. Learn first hand options in non-traditional ministry.

 

Alumni Affairs and Development Graduate Assistant  

 
Hours: 15/week 
Reporting to: Director of Development Erin Hammond 

 
Description: Learn to work in a non-traditional ministerial role. The Graduate Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Development Department in efforts related to fundraising, alumni engagement, and hospitality.   
 

Duties: 

  • Work with the development team to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities which support and engage Aquinas alumni and cultivate and thank our friends and donors.
  • Attend and staff major development events (Great Preacher Award, Lunches, Board of Trustee Meetings, etc.). 
  • Serve as the lead staff person for several projects. These projects will be determined based on the graduate assistant's skills and interest areas and the needs of the development office. 
  • Engage alumni and donors in the field, create content, and learn about mission driven programming.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in event planning and implementation (preferred but not required) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Organized and able to quickly adapt to change
  • Aptitude to work independently and creatively  
  • Ability to provide excellent/high level of service to our stakeholders 
  • Intermediate research and reporting skills 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (most often by moving event supplies, tables/chairs, storage items) 
  • Intermediate (or advanced) software skill level
