Application Requirements for Executive Master of Arts in Health Care Mission (EMAHCM)

Admission Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Experience in Catholic health care

    • Transcripts must come from the issuing institution and may be emailed to admissions@ai.edu or mailed directly to:

  3. Resume or Curriculum Vitae
    • Your resume or curriculum vitae should include your employment and education history and will be uploaded within the application as Word or PDF document. It is helpful if you highlight relevant ministry, service, and leadership positions you have held.
       
  4. Written Application Components
    • Written application components will be uploaded within the application as a Word or PDF document. Documents should be on double-spaced pages with one-inch margins and twelve-point font.
       
    • Applicants are required to submit a 1,000 word essay detailing why they are interested in the program, why theological education is important to the future of Catholic health ministry, and how participation in the program will affect the applicant’s career goals.
       
  5. Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Results
    • Students seeking acceptance to Aquinas Institute must take either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Records Examination (GRE). The Test scores must be sent directly from the testing center to Aquinas Institute. The MAT institutional code for Aquinas Institute is 2110.
       
    • Students who have either an undergraduate degree in theology/religious studies or any post-baccalaureate/graduate degree from an accredited institution may request a waiver for the exam. Aquinas Institute must receive the transcripts from these institutions prior to granting a waiver. Waivers are granted at the discretion of Aquinas Institute of Theology.
       
    • Non-degree seeking students are not required to take the MAT/GRE.
       
    • International applicants who take the TOEFL do not need to take the MAT or GRE.
       
  6. Interview
    • Applicants are required to complete an interview with the Director of the EMAHCM Program, Sr. Colleen Mallon.
       
  7. Three letters of recommendation
    • Applicants will provide the names and email addresses of recommenders within the application. Recommenders will receive an email with a reference form they are to fill out. Please be sure that your recommenders are aware of the application deadlines and online process, and choose them carefully to ensure that they can write on your behalf in a timely manner.
       
    • Applicants will request three (3) recommendations from individuals who can speak to their capacity to serve in health care mission.
       
  8. Application Fee
    • A non-refundable fee of $50 is required for the application. You can pay the application fee via credit or debit card within the application.
