Aquinas Lecture

This year's Aquinas Lecture will be delivered by the internationally renowned Thomist, Elenore Stump, Ph.D. The topic of Dr. Stump's address has not yet been announced. The program format will allow for a question-and-answer period after the lecture. Aquinas Lecture is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

Aquinas Institute invites leading theologians and other experts to speak on current topics in theology and ministry at our annual Aquinas Lecture, held in honor of our school's patron, St. Thomas Aquinas.

The purpose of the Aquinas Lecture is twofold: first, to bring the thought of Thomas Aquinas to bear on contemporary theological questions. In this case, the speaker would be a well-known theological expert who has made a significant scholarly contribution to contemporary scholarship in St. Thomas Aquinas.

Second, in the spirit of Aquinas, and because theology is inherently interdisciplinary and contextual, the lecturer may bring important cultural, political, intellectual or artistic currents into contact with theology and ministry. Speakers in this category would not necessarily be theologians, but would relate their own work to theology, ecclesiology or ministry and enable us to "hear what we need to hear" from the perspective of other disciplines
