Libraries

The libraries of Saint Louis University constitute an extraordinary resource for Aquinas students. With its Pius XII Memorial Library, SLU has become internationally renowned as a research center. The library is the sole depository in the western hemisphere for the Vatican microfilm collection, described by one Oxford scholar as “the most important single addition ever made to the libraries of America.” Pius XII also houses a four-story theology wing, a wide range of theological journals and electronic database resources. SLU Law and medical libraries are also available for specialized research.

Aquinas Institute of Theology maintains a reference library in our 23 South Spring location. This library houses a variety of theological and ministerial resources, including periodicals and videos. Aquinas Institute also maintains collections dedicated to preaching and the Order of Preachers.

Other services and materials available include computer work stations, reference software and a large quiet study area. For assistance in the Aquinas library contact Kathleen Tehan at library@ai.edu or 314.256.8809.
