We have an exciting opportunity open for a Director of Campus Ministry. The position will provide spiritual support to all members of the College community, including supervising the Living and Learning community at Mercy Court. The position will also teach in our School of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Responsibilities include:
• Advances the Catholic Church’s mission of higher education within the institution, while fostering the charism of the Sisters of Mercy, with special attention on Church documents, Ex Corde Ecclesiae and Empowered by the Spirit.
• Assists students with the application of spiritual values and faith development. Provides pastoral counseling and spiritual direction as needed.
• Supervises, develops and supports a living and learning environment with students living at Mercy Court.
• Provides teaching, supervision and evaluation of student learning experiences in courses such as servant leadership, scripture or religious studies.
• Provides individual advisement and guidance for intellectual and professional development of students.

Successful candidates will possess
• Master’s degree in ministry, scripture, theology, or religious studies.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in higher education.
• Active Roman Catholic.
• Three years experience with non-traditional-aged young adult ministry.
• Knowledge of contemporary issues in Catholic higher education.
• Significant understanding of the essentials of young adult ministry.
• Ability to live in the Living and Learning community at Mercy Court. A furnished apartment will be provided by the College.

TITLE: Campus Minister II - Coordinator of Peer Ministry and Student Outreach

Chaplain's Office
Develop and implement a peer ministry program with Campus Ministry that extends to all areas of campus living. Assist the Chaplain in providing direct pastoral care to students helping to implement the strategic plan for the Office of Mission and Ministry.
1. Assist the Chaplain in achieving the yearly and strategic goals of Campus Ministry.
2. Design and coordinate all elements of a peer ministry program aimed at strengthening the spiritual lives of students and inviting them to participate in the various activities of Campus Ministry.
a. Conceptualize a new program by working with colleagues to assess the needs of the student body in general, and small group and/or individuals in particular;
b. Design the program in creative and practically feasible ways;
c. Recruit, interview, and select peer ministers to carry out the program;
d. Train, direct, and supervise the peer ministers in an on-going manner;
e. Evaluate the program's level of success and the performance of the individual peer ministers periodically and provide the necessary people with feedback and direction;
f. Assess the viability of creating and designing a residential peer ministry program either in the residential dorms or in the community at large.
3. Provide pastoral care to students directly by offering availability both in the Campus Ministry Center and across campus.
4. Collaborate with colleagues in Campus Ministry to plan and execute retreats throughout the year.

2. Perform all other duties as may be required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required. Graduate Degree in Theology, pastoral ministry, or related field preferred. Two to three years' experience in peer ministry or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing who is comfortable with, and knowledgeable about the faith. Must possess good teamwork and communication skills. Familiarity with the needs and interests of college students and a willingness to accommodate student schedules. Experience with outreach/evangelization, and peer ministry. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, and other computer skills necessary.
