<description>Join us for the January 18th session of Aquinas Institute of Theology’s Roundtable luncheon/lecture series:
February 15, 2012
Five Key Disciplines for a Moral LIfe

Presented by Fr. Richard Peddicord, O.P.
A well-lived moral life requires a certain disposition; Fr. Peddicord discusses the basic building blocks that help one grow into full moral stature.
The Aquinas Roundtable is an outreach ministry of Aquinas Institute of Theology. The series was created to share the rich theological and spiritual heritage of Aquinas Institute with our alumni, friends, and neighbors in the St. Louis area. Each session includes prayer, lunch, a short presentation, and an opportunity for questions and discussion. It is our goal to provide you with an intellectually interesting and spiritual engaging forum to learn more about important issues that impact the lives of Catholics and the Church.
The Roundtable begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. The presentation begins at noon followed by a brief question and answer period. The Aquinas Roundtable is held at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel (7730 Bonhomme, Clayton, MO 63105). Each lunch and lecture is $23. Reservations must be made seven days in advance. Full reimbursement will be made for cancellations made at least one week prior to an event.
To be added to the Roundtable mailing list, to make a reservation, or if you would like more information, please contact Diane Henderson at henderson@ai.edu or 314.256.8856.
Visit the Aquinas Roundtable web page to find out the dates, topics and speakers for the entire 2011-2012 Roundtable series.
Please join us for the conversation!

<title>500 Years of Witness - Aquinas Institute to Participate in Montesinos Anniversary Webcast.</title>
    <link>http://www.ai.edu/AboutUs/PressReleases/tabid/69/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/135/500-Years-of-Witness--Aquinas-Institute-to-Participate-in-Montesinos-Anniversary-Webcast.aspx</link>
<description>(St. Louis) Arriving late in the year 1510, Dominicans have been preaching and teaching in America for 500 years. Our legacy is significant as we began our ministry in the New World. The first friars were disturbed and confronted by the treatment of the Indigenous Peoples. They were seriously oppressed and pushed into submission by the Spanish who colonized their land.
The Dominicans, after studying the atrocities, decided to make a public denouncement of the treatment of the Indians through the form of a sermon. Each of the friars signed the document and Fr. Antonio Montesinos was commissioned to preach this sermon during Advent, 1511. The sermon was not preserved, but Bartolome de Las Casas incorporated an extract in his work, History of the Indies.
As members of the Dominican Family in the Americas, we will begin to commemorate this important anniversary through a webcast on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 7:00 pm. The program will focus on the past and present issues challenging the Dominican Family in America. Rumor has it that Fr. Montesinos may make an appearance. This presentation will be available for downloading as well as converted into DVDs.&amp;#160; Presenters will include James Barnett, O.P., Marcelline Koch, O.P., Margaret Mace, O.P., Chuck Dahm, O.P., and Toni Harris, O.P.
The community of Aquinas Institute of Theology will gather to experience this event, beginning with evening prayer at 4:30 pm in the Aquinas chapel, followed by a potluck dinner in Ascension Commons. The webcast program will begin at 7:00 pm in rooms 149/151. If you are interested in joining us, please send e-mail to visit@ai.edu.
