St. Clare is a 1,000-household parish with a reputation for good liturgy and social justice. We are in a rapidly growing area and have many new parishioners. People here are eager to share their time and talent in parish ministries. Practicum possibilities include:
1) outreach and evangelization to inactive families and their children (possibly including a children’s catechumenate)
2) adult education and on-going RCIA work
3) social justice outreach, especially in the area of community organizing and political advocacy with United Congregations of Metro-East and
4) youth ministry.

Supervisor's Bio/Additional Comments:
Cheryl Sommer would initially show the intern what the procedures are and then let her/him be self-directed. She prefers a team approach to ministry. She likes working with parishioners, hearing their ideas and empowering them to share their gifts.
