The Aquinas Institute is pleased to announce that the Ashley-O’Rourke Initiative, created in 2011, has been renamed the Ashley-O’Rourke Center for Health Ministry Leadership. The new name reflects the permanence of the Center’s work, as it grows in serving a number of health care ministries in a variety of partnerships.
The Ashley O’Rourke Center for Health Ministry Leadership is named in honor of two prominent Dominicans, Benedict Ashley, O.P., and Kevin O’Rourke, O.P., who have separately and together made significant contributions to Catholic health care.
The programs and services offered by the Ashley O’Rourke Center for Health Ministry Leadership assist leaders in Catholic health care to shape and claim their ministerial identity while assuming greater responsibility for insuring the integrity of Catholic health ministry into the future. This goal adheres with the mission of Aquinas Institute of Theology to educate men and women to preach, to teach, to minister, and to lead.
