(ST. LOUIS) - Aquinas Institute of Theology is pleased to be a Supporting Organization for an Interfaith Memorial to Commemorate the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11 Through Music. This event, to be held from 5:30 - 6:30 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, will feature performances by soprano Christine Brewer, presented by Opera Theater of St. Louis and accompanied by pianist Peter Martin, a St. Louis Symphony string quartet and the St. Louis Symphony on Unison Chorus. Also featured will be religious musical reflections by representatives from St. Louis' Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Hindu communities.
Senator John Danforth will offer the invocation for the evening adn the pipe and drum corps of the City of St. Louis Fire and St. Louis County Police Departments will present the colors.
Primary Sponsors for this event are Interfaith Partnership/Faith Beyond Walls and the Michael and Barbara Newmark Institute for Human Relations at the Jewish Community Relations Council. Support also comes from many other St. Louis educational, religious and cultural institutions.
This event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Doors open at 4:45 pm, and those attending are encouraged to arrive early.
