Aquinas Institute congratulates Adjunct Associate Professor of Homiletics, Ann Garrido, on her recently-published book entitled, Preaching to the Choir: Reflections for the Aquinas Community. Garrido has over 15 years of regular preaching experience through her work at Aquinas Institute, and her book includes selections of her preaching, providing a window into the way the Word of God intersects with very particular events in the community's history and the author's own life.
"Every Christian community tries to make sense of its history by placing their experiences next to the Word of God," explains Garrido. "This book gives a glimpse of Aquinas Institute's history, and the ways in which we, as a preaching community, tried to make sense of what was going on in the world at a particular time."
Garrio served as a regular faculty member and program administrator at Aquinas Institute from 2000-2013, and now continues to teach long distance while also working as a consultant in the areas of conflict mediation, administration, and leadership development.
"Ann Garrido has become a prophetic voice, through all of her publications, and is worth listening to. She speaks and preaches directly to Vatican II Catholics as she invites us into a deeper relationship with the Holy," said Aquinas Institute President, David Caron, O.P. "In this book, Ann provides us with a wonderful gift as she sheds light on both the scriptures and the human condition. There are profound spiritual riches here. "
Garrido is the author of three other books: Mustard Seed Preaching (LTP, 2004); A Concise Guide to Supervising a Ministry Student (Ave Maria, 2008); and Redeeming Administration (Ave Maria, 2013), as well as numerous journal and magazine articles.
