Aquinas Institute of Theology's Associate Professor of Systematic Theology and Co-Director of the Ashley-O'Rourke Center for Health Ministry Leadership, Sr. Colleen Mary Mallon, O.P., Ph.D., has embarked on a summer pilgrimage program in Fanjeaux, France.
This international study experience will bring together faculty, administrators, students and staff from U.S. Dominican schools in the medieval hilltop town where St. Dominic's vision of an order devoted to seeking and sharing the truth took shape from 1206 to 1216. Mornings are spent in study, while afternoons are spent in excursions to historic sites in southern France with a focus on places significant in the early history of the Order of Preachers. As a community of learners, all participants will enjoy simple living and good meals at the Belvedere, a Dominican guest-house. The program will conclude with four nights in Paris.
"I am thrilled to be part of the team guiding this pilgrimage experience," said Sr. Colleen. "It is my first time in our Dominican "holy land" and it is such a privilege to be working with other team members including, Trudi Goggin, Sr. Patricia Dougherty, O.P., Francois Haymann, and Fr. Paul Philibert, O.P."
