At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, three Aquinas Institute of Theology alumni were ordained into the Priesthood, while two were ordained into the Diaconate, by Most Rev. Edward Rice, Auxiliary Bishop of St. Louis at a ceremony at St. Pius V.
The gentleman being ordained into the Priesthood were: Douglas Adam Greer, O.P., Luke Christopher Barder, O.P., and Jude Gerald McPeak, O.P. Those ordained into the Diaconate were: Timothy Mary Combs, O.P., and Raymond-Marie Stephen-Bryce, O.P. In the Catholic Church, the Diaconate is the first of three ranks in ordained ministry. Deacons preparing for the Priesthood are transitional deacons, and those not planning to be ordained priests are called permanent deacons.
Aquinas Institute is very proud of these past students as they use the knowledge gained through their studies to effectively preach, teach, minister and lead the community in faith.
