Living Simply I: Graduate Studies as an Exercise in Simplicity

Graduate school often requires a sacrifice of time and money. How can graduate school life and personal formation be enhanced through a reconsideration of everyday habits and choices? Participants are invited to attend Midday Prayer at 11:30 in the chapel.

*Wednesday March 26, noon to 1:00 p.m.:

Living Simply II: Thoughtful Consumption

Degrees and certificates are expensive, and every dollar and cent saved can make a difference over a course of studies. We will discuss how individuals and families can maintain a quality life through consumer discounts, free or inexpensive local entertainment, and other resources.

*Monday April 14, noon to 1:00 p.m.:

Prepare for the Future Now: Saving for Life Events and Emergencies

Although academic, spiritual, and social responsibilities always deserve priority attention, anxiety about future financial issues can be prevented through careful attention paid right now. Topics to be discussed include retirement plans, emergency savings, financing a child's education, and insurance-among others. Participants are invited to attend Midday Prayer at 11:30 in the chapel.

*Wednesday April 23, noon to 1:00 p.m.:

Get Out of Debt: A Plan for Life after Graduation

With a diploma in hand, whether you have a job secured or not, educational debt will be a major issue. We will discuss loan repayment and loan consolidation and why it is important to have a plan in place so that ministers in the field can dedicate their attention on serving their faith community's needs.
