After graduating from Aquinas Institute of Theology in 2002 I served as a youth retreat director for a year, but during this time, I wanted to know more how technology could impact education. I applied to Educational Technology in secondary education at the University of Missouri—St. Louis (UMSL). After graduation I went to work at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Louis as their technology coordinator. One day, I was meeting with my advisor and he looked at me and said that I would do well with a doctorate. I hope to graduate with my Ph.D. in December 2009.

Aquinas Institute of Theology is truly an institution of Dominican collaboration of the Dominican Family; I represent the Lay Dominicans of the Province of St. Albert the Great. I have been a Lay Dominican for over five years. Currently, I am the moderator or president of the local Lay Dominican Chapter in St. Louis, Mo.

My current research focuses on theological hybrid learning programs and how participants in these programs can be formed and create a learning community while only seeing one another face-to-face once during their course, especially the participants in Aquinas Institute's D.Min. program.
